No - SOAD forms will NOT affect patients statuses. If there is a need for an MHA status to be changed following a SOAD report this will have to be completed manually by the Mental Health Law team.
Will SOAD reports go into my caseload in eMHA
Yes - SOAD reports will go into your caseload in the same way as all other forms do currently.
In eMHA you can send forms to anybody with an approved email address (@nhs.net, @nhs.uk, @gov.uk, etc). When a form is sent to a user with an approved email address who doesn’t have an eMHA account, a guest account will be created for them. They will be sent an email to view the form where they will be sent a One Time Passcode to login to eMHA and view ONLY the information that has been shared with them.
SOADs can amend forms on eMHA. If you require a form to be amended or has an error, you will not be able to request this through eMHA. Please request this using your usual processes. SOADs will not be able to amend a form where administrative scrutiny has been marked as complete, so please ensure that no amends are required before you click this button.
If the NHS number on the SOAD form matched the one that exists within your organisation's eMHA instance the form will be merged into the record linked with Rio or PDS, once the receiver has accepted the form.
- If the 2 patients match exactly on surname, NHS number and DOB they will be merged automatically.
- If there are any differences in these demographics the receiver will be asked to confirm the merge.

SOADs can complete all treatment forms on eMHA,
apart from T1 forms.
- This has been requested by the CQC, as they are required to be informed prior to this form being completed.
- The number of T1 forms completed by SOADs is very small; however, if you do receive a T1 form, it will not be shared via eMHA. You should continue to receive and process T1 forms using your usual processes.
