MHA Status

MHA Status

You will be able to see the current detention status for patients that you have access to on eMHA.

  • This captures the current MHA status of the patient and will automatically update when a form is completed in eMHA that changes the powers or expiry dates. The status refers to in-hospital MHA detentions, CTOs and discharges.

  • The status, expiry, renewals/extensions and organisation displayed are either automatically populated from a eMHA by Thalamos form or have been manually input by an administrator. They reflect the most recent change on the eMHA system. To see more details, you can hover over the information icons in the banner.

  • If non-eMHA forms have been used, or if the patient has been moved without manual updates, the status will not be accurate.

How to update MHA Status

Only MHL team members will be able to edit a MHA Status. Once it has been updated, this will be visible for all users that have access to this patient. To edit the MHA status:

  • Access the patient record

  • Click the ‘edit’ button on the MHA status

  • Update the MHA status details as needed

  • Click confirm.
