Requesting Ongoing Police Presence and Downloading the Form
Once you have accessed the form, you will be required to indicate if you require ongoing police presence to download the form. s136 processes should still be in place, and the digital s136 form should not replace direct communication between the Officer and the POS staff. Information recorded about if police presence is required should reflect the direct communication between the Officer and the POS staff.
Confirm if the police are still present at your POS
If you select 'No', you will be brought to the form page and will be able to download the form.
If you select 'Yes', select a reason why police presence is needed from the dropdown list and enter further reasoning. The following options can be selected:
To protect people from an immediate risk to life, or from serious harm
Not enough staff available
Person needs transferring to another Place of Safety for assessment
Other
Click 'Confirm'. The Officer will be notified of this.
At this point, you will be able to download the form if required. Click 'Action' on the form and 'Download PDF'.
The Officer will confirm if they will remain at the POS.
There will be a status on the form to indicate the status of the request:
Requested = pending a response from the Officer
Declined = the Officer has indicated they will not stay
Accepted = if Officer has indicated they will remain
