Understanding the Difference: Metropolitan Police s136 Form vs. BTP Section s136 Form

Key Differences between MPS forms and BTP Forms

  1. The British Transport Police will start using Thalamos' software to complete & share s136 forms.
  2. From 31 July 2025, your Place of Safety should expect digital s136 forms from BTP.
  3. This Thalamos software is similar to but is a different version to the one used by the Met Police. This means the way POS receive and access BTP s136 forms will be different to how they receive and access MPS s136 forms.
  4. MPS are expected to transition to the same version in the upcoming months.

This overview explains the key differences between the s136 Form used by the Metropolitan Police and the British Transport Police. The purpose of this table is to highlight key differences in the process, and will point you to correct guidance to provide more information.
