How to transfer the form to another Place of Safety and then accept the transfer
Once you have accepted legal responsibility for the patient and the handover has been confirmed you will have the option to transfer the form to another place of safety.
- Click TRANSFER
- Select the place of safety from the dropdown list. The email will automatically be populated. If the email address is NOT populated, you will need to ask the place of safety staff for an email address and then manually enter this information.
NOTE: You are about to about to transfer formal legal responsibility to the individual under Section 136 to another Place of Safety. Please speak with the Place of Safety you are transferring the patient to and make sure they are expecting the patient before you complete this action.
- Input your name, position and signature and click CONFIRM TRANSFER.
- Once you have confirmed the transfer, you must wait for the place of safety to accept. The patient remains your responsibility until the transfer has been accepted. If you need to make an amendment you can cancel the transfer using the CANCEL button at the bottom of the screen.
- The Place of Safety receiving the transfer will then receive an email notification letting them know that another Place of Safety has requested to transfer them a Section 136 form.
- To access the form that has been transferred click VIEW & ACTION FORM Enter your email address, the access code from the email notification & site code. Click sign in as a guest.
- You will then need to review the Assessment before you can accept or reject the transfer. You can do this by clicking REVIEW.
- Once you have reviewed the assessment click ACKNOWLEDGE AND RETURN TO OVERVIEW. You can then click ACCEPT TRANSFER if you are accepting the transfer of formal legal responsibility for the individual under section 136. You can click the REJECT TRANSFER button below if you need to.
- Input the time and date the patient arrived at your Place of Safety and click ACCEPT TRANSFER.
- Input your name, position and signature and click ACCEPT TRANSFER. By signing below you are accepting the transfer of formal legal responsibility for the individual under section 136.
- You will then see a HANDOVER CONFIRMED You have now accepted legal responsibility. You can review the police form, complete a Monitoring Form or confirm that you will use your own system before ending the incident.
- The Place of Safety initiating the transfer will still have access to the information up until the point the transfer was accepted. This information can be downloaded using the DOWNLOAD button.
